Rendezvous, Big Wisky, and work!

 Monday, May 4:

Another full day of briefings.  We did our presentation on the rivers from Chicago to Iuka.  The presentation went well and we did more visiting with our fellow loopers.  We setup chairs on the dock again and several stopped by to visit.  We didn't open up for the looper crawls, but we had another full day and lots of visiting.  Back to the hotel for dinner, then back to the boat for bed.  Wes still wasn't feeling well.  He had the heat on in the room and took meds.  It was very warm and I couldn't sleep, so I moved to the V berth to sleep.  Another night of not sleeping well for both of us.

 Tuesday, May 5:

Wes wasn't feeling well still, and he thought he had pneumonia.  I borrowed Brian and Jeri's car and I drove him to an urgent care office.  I filled out all the paperwork and while we were waiting we noticed they didn't have an X-ray technitian on duty that day.  They tested him for strep, flu and covid.  All came back negative.  They sent us to another location where he got a chest X-ray.  It also came back clear.  So, they diagnosed him with viral bronchitis.  They prescribed him with an inhailer, steriods and some cough medicine.  We got back to the boat around 1100.  Wes took meds and went back to bed.  I relaxed and napped in my chair.  Later that afternoon, he was feeling better.  I went and got us some ice cream and we both layed in bed and rested.  I got up and made us some dinner, then we decided some fresh air would do us well, so we went for a walk around the docks.  We visited with several loopers.  A good portion of the time was spent visiting with Jacquie and Tsali from Compass Rose.  Then we went back to the boat and went to bed.

Wednesday, May 6:

We finally both got a decent night sleep.  The meds were working and Wes was feeling better, so we took the scooters and did a tour of the USS Missouri.  That took up a good portion of the day.  Then we took the ferry over to have drinks and dinner at Fish and Slips with a bunch of other loopers.  We took the ferry back then walked over to Maggie O'Malley's with Ramble On, Roam, and a few others where we enjoyed a few more beverages.  Then we walked back to the boat and went to bed.

 Thursday, May 7:

We got u and started getting ready to move the boat.  It was rainy and not the best day to travel, but we needed to move the boat to where it would sit while we both traveled for work.  We dropped the lines around 0800.  We stopped at Ocean Yacht and tied up on their dock to wait for them to open.  It ended up being a waste of time, as they only take reservations via Dockwa.  So we dropped the lines and headed to Atlantic Yacht Basin.  We got lucky and hit the bridge openings and made it to the lock around 1030.  We locked through but stayed tied up until about 1050 as we needed to wait for the 1100 bridge opening to get to the marina.  It was a tight fit, but we got tied up to the dock and got settled in.  I continued to work and Wes went and picked up the car rental and then did computer work.  We had leftovers for dinner and then emptied the refrigerator and freezer so they could defrost while we were gone.  I packed up my things, we relaxed a bit watching TV, then off to bed.

Friday, May 8:

We both got up right away and finished our last minute items and shut the boat down.  We pulled out around 0700.  Wes dropped me off at the airport then he started off toward TN.  My flight was fine and I made it to Chicago around 1230.  My sister and her husband picked me up from the airport.  We stopped for lunch, then we made it to my parents house.  We dropped off my stuff and visited a bit, then we went over to my niece's house for dinner.  It was great seeing my family.  Wes made it to TN around 1900 then we went through all the mail, made a run for some food and beverages, then went to bed.

Saturday, May 9:

Wes got up, went and picked up Lou then they drove down to Orange Beach, AL.  I drove over to my daughter's house and had a nice visit.  We went and had manicures and pedicures, had a nice lunch, and did a little shopping.  I dropped her off at her house then went back to my parent's house.  They were out as they had card club that evening.  My son drove down and we ordered in dinner and watched a movie.  It was a very enjoyable day!

Sunday, May 10:

Wes and Lou got the boat ready to move and got all their provisions for the trip.  They were all done around 1300, but they couldn't return the car until the next day, so they relaxed and watched some baseball.  My brother and sister and all their kids came over and we all hung out together for Mother's Day.  It was a nice day, so a good portion of the day was spent outside.  We also played some cards.  After everyone left we relaxed watching some TV before heading to bed.
