Monday, April 20:
We got up and Wes did some route planning while I worked. We dropped our lines around 1000 and made the short trip to Carolina Beach. We wanted to be there for Happy Hour's wake crossing. It was my first time grabbing a mooring ball. I was nervous, but we did it without any issues. Yes, I think anchoring is easier, but grabbing the mooring ball, wasn't bad. I was all worked up for no reason. We got hooked up and settled around 1230. Wes dropped the dinghy down and went and visited with other boats. Happy Hour passed us around 1330 on their final approach to their slip. We blew our horns and cheered them on as they passed. After I got done working, we went in via dinghy to join Happy Hour in the wake crossing celebration. It was great to celebrate with Frank and Sharon. Several boats were there, Ramble On, Roam, Thunderbolt, and Galene. A good time was had by all. As it was getting dark, we got in our dinghy and went back to the boat. We relaxed and watched some TV, then went to bed.

Tuesday, April 21:
We both got up and did our respective bible studies. Then Wes did some computer work while I worked. Wes was getting a headache so he laid down for a couple hours. When I was done with work, we went into town to explore. Carolina Beach is a cute town. We stopped for some ice cream and checked out some shops. We walked the boardwalk. Then we went back to the dinghy dock and visited with April of P Sea S. We ran into Mark and Diana on Ramble On and visited a bit with them before getting in the dinghy to head back to the boat. It was a later dinner than usual, but I made dinner and we watched the Brewer game then called it a night.
Wednesday, April 22:
We got up and Wes got the boat ready to travel. We dropped our lines from the mooring ball around 0715 and started north to go to the Mile Hammock anchorage in Camp Legume. We had a couple bridges that needed to open for us, but they weren't an issue. We saw a sailboat that was sitting on the bottom but was still upright. There were some big beautiful homes along the AICW. It was a beautiful day on the water. We arrived at our anchorage around 1400. I was on a work call so Wes had to do everything himself. As always, he did a great job and got us all secured. The winds were whipping! They started around 1300 and kept up well into the night. Other than that, it was a nice evening at anchor. We did the AGLCA Canada webinar after dinner, then we both did some computer work and got Wes's travel determined for his boat move. Once that was all done, we were both beat and went to bed.
Thursday, April 23:
We got up at 0600 and started getting the boat ready to move. We started pulling the anchor around 0640. The seawater pump wasn't working so it took longer as we tried to scrub the mud off and "swish" the chain to try and get the mud off. It helped but wasn't perfect. I started working while Wes drove. We made it through the Onslow bridge around 0720 with time to spare before they closed it at 0800. I had a busy day with work, so not many pictures, but it was a nice day on the water! We got to Beaufort, NC around 1300. I was still on a work call, so once again, Wes had to set the anchor by himself. He got us secured, then he sat in his chair and relaxed a bit while I worked. Once I was done with work, we took the dinghy to where Roam was at. We visited with them, and Sea Mist II for a bit. Then we took the dinghy to Better Together where we had a quick visit. Then back to Roam for dock tales. From there we went to Black Sheep for pizza. Then we walked to Backstreet Pub where we enjoyed more beverages and fun conversation. Then around 2230 we decided we should head back. On our walk back we decided we'd have a nightcap with George and Midge on Roam. We had one final beverage, then took the dinghy back to Toscana. We got the dinghy out of the water, then went to bed shortly thereafter as it was getting very close to 2400. Another fun night on the fun wheel!
Friday, April 24:
We got up and Wes got the boat ready for travel. We pulled the anchor around 0730 and started heading to New Bern. It was a great day on the water. It was a little windy, but it wasn't rough. We arrived at the marina around 1340 and Mike and Barbara Bruhn from our bible study groups were there to greet us and catch our lines. We got secured and I went back to work while Wes checked us in. When I was done working, we went over to Jackie B III (Mike and Barbara's boat) for docktales. Dee Dee and Kevin joined us for docktales. Then we walked over to the point where they had a music festival and food trucks. We brought our chairs, sat outside and enjoyed the music some but we enjoyed the company more! We decided to walk downtown for dinner. The six of us enjoyed dinner at Harry's. Then we walked around downtown some more. Such a cute town with many bears scattered around and we walked by where Pepsi was originated. Dee Dee and Kevin were tired, so they called it a night. Barbara, Mike, Wes and I stopped at The James Drinkery where we had one "fancy" cocktail (mine was called It's Our Secret). Then we stopped by Pinky's The Pub Upstairs for one more round of beverages. It was after looper midnight, so we decided to walk back to the marina. We said goodnight to Barbara and Mike and went back to Toscana, where Wes did a little computer work for the storage facility and I was on my iPad. We called it a night around 2230.
Saturday, April 25:
Wes got up a little later than usual and I of course still got up after him. Mike came over to help us drop our lines. We dropped our lines around 0820 so we could make the 0830 bridge opening. It was a beautiful day on the water! I sat on my perch most of the day. We made it to our anchorage around 1400. It was so nice that we both sat on the aft deck and enjoyed our landing drink and enjoyed the peace and quite of being on anchor. We made dinner on the blackstone and ate on the aft deck to enjoy the sunshine and nature! As dusk was approaching we went inside and relaxed by watching some TV then off to bed.
Sunday, April 26:
It rained overnight but it was still a nice peaceful anchorage. We pulled the anchor around 0800 and started making tracks to Bellhaven. The wind continued to pick up as the day went on and it continued to rain on and off all day. We arrived at River Forest Manor and Marina around 1130. We got secured and checked in. There were some loopers here (River Girl and Cheers). Two other loopers came in and we visited with them a bit (Thunderbolt and Round 4). We decided to go up to the Manor for their Sunday brunch for our big meal and as a treat for our anniversary. It was delicious and I ate too much. We went back to the boat and watched church. Wes then did some route planning and I decided to go check out the laundry facilities. I found out it was free, so back to the boat to load up our laundry. Others had the same idea, but I got three loads of laundry done. Then in the evening we just relaxed watching some TV then off to bed.
