Southbound with great fall colors and excellent October baseball!!!

 Monday, October 12:

We got up and Wes checked the winds.  They had died down but he still thought it would be too rough on the lake, so we stayed in Sturgeon Bay.  I started working and Wes went over to the Wells boat as they were getting hauled out at 0800.  I had a busy day working.  John, Mark and Karen stopped by in the afternoon and they visited with Wes on the aft deck while I was on work calls.  Then Wes put on the Brewer game as I was finishing up with my work calls and then of course had to finish my emails.  Once I was done, I heated up dinner and we finished watching the Brewers.  Some thunderstorms went through and continued throughout the night.  After the game, we both just relaxed watching TV and on our tablets until we called it a night around 2100.

Tuesday, October 13:

We both got up and did our respective bible studies.  After that we then had discussions on where we wanted to try to get to.  We decided to keep to our smaller trips so we dropped our lines around 0845 then started making our way to Manitowoc.  Given how the winds have been, Lake Michigan wasn't bad!  We had some swells but overall it was a nice ride.  The flies were absolutely crazy though!  They covered the boat like mayflies do.  We arrived in Manitowoc around 1630, and got secured.  Wes went and got us checked-in while I finished working.  I had a long day so it was an easy dinner night of a side salad, cheddar brats with mac and cheese.  After dinner, we relaxed by watching some TV before heading to bed.

Wednesday, October 14:

We got up and Wes checked the weather.  He gave us the green light, so we got the boat ready for travel and dropped our lines around 0730 and started making our way to Port Washington.  It was a little lumpy at first.  The swells were rocking us with an occasional larger swell.  It wasn't a bad run though.  It leveled out as we went.  We arrive in Port Washington around 1430 and got secured.  I finished working, made dinner, then we watched the Brewers game.  After the game we went to bed.

 Thursday, October 15:

We got up and I started working.  I had a very busy day for work.  Wes got up and did computer work all day.  It was a rainy, gloomy day.  It was a quiet day working while we were at port.  We stayed inside all day working, made dinner and watched the Brewers sweep the Dodgers and win the pennant.  After the game we relaxed a bit before heading to bed.

Friday, October 16:

We got up and both started working right away.  The rain stopped, but the winds were wicked and the temperatures dropped.  We stayed on the boat working all day and it was chilly to explore, so had a quiet evening on the boat.  We had dinner, watched some TV then went to bed.

Saturday, October 17:

It was another chilly morning, so we were a little slow getting moving.  We got up and relaxed a bit and waited for it to warm up some.  Then we took down the scooters and made the trek to Walmart to get a new start battery for the generator and some other provisions.  It was almost 5 miles one way with many portions being uphill, so we weren't sure how well the scooters would do.  We made it to Walmart (at certain points on our way, we were both down to just the red bar on the scooters).  My hands were very cold and a bit numb, but they warmed up when we went inside and did our shopping.  The ride back to the boat went quicker and we both made it back without any issues, though both scooters needed to be charged.  I put the food away, then gathered our laundry and went up and got our laundry done.  Wes vacuum sealed the bacon, sausage and chicken we got from Walmart.  When I got back, I put the laundry away, then marinated the steaks for dinner.  We had steak, potatoes, and corn on the cob for dinner, then we relaxed by watching some TV, then heading off to bed.

Sunday, October 18:

It was another chilly morning.  Wes made some sweet tea, then we took the scooters and went exploring.  We went on the bike path in the other direction than we took to get to Walmart.  Then we stopped by St Mary's Catholic Church and the 1860 Light Station.  From there we went to the Lucky Devils Bar and Grill and had a Bloody Mary, a couple beers and some lunch.  Then back to the boat where we finished watching the Bears game.  We watched some TV then watched the Packer Game before heading to bed.
