Monday August 4:
I had a dentist appointment that morning then back to my parent's house to work. We then packed up all our stuff again and my parents drove us to O'Hare. We were there early. It took me some time to get through security (I don't have the TSA pre-check). We got to the gate with a couple hours to wait, so we just hung out. It was a bit crowded and loud. We were happy to get on the plane and get settled. It was another short flight. MBS was basically empty, so much better to get through than O'Hare. Aunt Gay and Sherry pulled up shortly after we arrived and they drove us back to the boat. Wes turned everything back on and we gave Sherry a quick tour, then they headed back home. We relaxed for a little bit, then off to bed.
Tuesday August 5:
I had a busy day at work, which made my day fly by. Wes was busy working on the dinghy. The brackets that hold the seat in place pulled out while we were in rough seas. That evening, we got provisions as we defrosted the refrigerator and freezer while we were gone, so we needed to get our food down. We got what we needed then back to the boat. Aunt Gay came and joined us for a nice dinner on the back deck. She went home around before dusk as she doesn't like to drive in the dark. It was a nice night, so we stayed out on the back deck and relaxed. Once it got dark, the bugs started to come out, so we went inside then to bed.
Wednesday, August 6:
Wes worked more on the dinghy installing a new plug for the light that goes on the back, then did some picture stuff while I worked. After work we headed over to Aunt Gay's for dinner. It was a nice relaxing evening, then back to the boat and off to bed we went.
Thursday, August 7:
I had a busy day at work with meetings most of the day. Wes did some video work. We invited Deb & Brownie over for dinner. I made some chicken quesadillas and we enjoyed a nice evening on the back deck. We had a few beverages and talked smart for a bit, then we called it a night.
Friday, August 8:
Wes smoked some cream cheese while I worked. Aunt Gay came to visit later that afternoon, then we all went in Deb & Brownie's little boat (with Tom the Harbormaster at Wheeler Landing) and headed to Retro Rock Bar & Grille for dinner. It was good food and company. We went back to the boat and Aunt Gay headed home. We invited our neighbors over join us as well, so the 7 of us hung out on our back deck enjoying some beverages and having a nice evening visiting. We got caught on the fun wheel again and didn't go to bed until 2am. We aren't built for these late nights! 😂
Saturday, August 9:
We weren't moving too fast in the morning. Wes' cousin Kristen and her husband Matt drove up from Warsaw, IN that morning. They arrived at the boat around 1400 with Aunt Gay and we all loaded up and shoved off for a little day cruise. We went out into the bay out to a little lighthouse they call the spark plug and turned back around. Once we returned, we enjoyed a landing drink on the aft deck. Then they left to go to Aunt Gay's so they could get dinner going. Wes showered then we headed over to Aunt Gay's where we enjoyed lasagna and baseball. We then came back to the marina and enjoyed a night cap with Deb and Brownie. We made it to bed just before midnight (an improvement from the night before).
Sunday, August 10:
Wes was up by 0700 and made us breakfast while I showered. We enjoyed breakfast on the aft deck, then went over to Deb & Brownie's to see them off as they were taking off for their 2 week trip. Then we headed over to Aunt Gay's to see Matt & Kristen off. We looked through some old pictures then saw them off. We headed back to the boat once they left for a quiet day on the boat. Wes watched the Brewer game while I read. It was HOT out so we spent the day inside. Wes added our Timmer's 10 Mile stamp to our trinket wall. We then had a quiet dinner on the boat and early to bed.
