Monday, June 15:
We got up and started working. It was a nice cool morning. Wes worked on our route planning while I worked. Once I was done with work, we went to shore and walked to Goodfellas with Knot on Call (Ron and Audrey) to celebrate as they were crossing their wake the next day. We enjoyed a good Italian dinner. Ron and Audrey had Espresso Martini's for dessert and a toast to celebrate their accomplishment! We made a quick stop at CVS then we walked back to the yacht club where we went up to the bar and had a couple beverages. There were still some loopers there. We visited for a bit, then went back to the boat. We watched some TV then went to bed.
Tuesday, June 16:
We got up and got moving right away. We pulled anchor around 0630 and started our way up to New York City. We both did our bible studies while underway. We got to the Statue of Liberty around 0830. Knot on Call got our picture. Then we staged and took their picture, as well as Bahama Problem, Story and Serenity (sailboat just starting their loop). Then Knot on Call took a right up the East River while we took a left up the Hudson. It was a beautiful day on the water! Once you got past the city, the Hudson was beautiful with cliffs and nature all around. We got to Half Moon Bay and dropped the anchor around 1300. I finished work, then we went in to docktales at the marina. There was quite the crowd again! It was great visiting with everyone. Then we went back to Toscana where Bahama Problem (Chris and Kimber) joined us for dinner on the aft deck. It was getting chilly once the sun went down so we went inside and visited some more. Wes took them back around 2200. We watched a little TV then went to bed.

And then, the pictures of us from Knot on Call!!
Wednesday, June 17:
Wes got up and did computer work. I started working as well. We wanted to wait to leave until slack tide so then we would get the push from the current while we traveled. We pulled the anchor around 1045 and started up the Hudson. It was a beautiful day on the Hudson. We past West Point and also saw several low flying helicopters. The scenery reminds us both of the upper Mississippi. We arrived at our anchorage behind Esopus Island around 1410. We relaxed on the aft deck for a bit. We had to go in while a storm blew over, but then we enjoyed dinner also on the aft deck. We were both tired so we went in and watched some TV before heading to bed.
It was a nice night at anchor. We had some trains go by overnight but it wasn't bad. Then early morning it rained, but it was a light steady rain, so it wasn't bad. It was kind of relaxing even. We pulled the anchor around 0715 and started up the Hudson on our way to Sandy Harbor where there's another crowd of loopers. Several we've been trying to catch up to. We arrived around 1430 and got tied up. I grabbed our laundry and got that started while I continued to work. I was able to get the laundry done and did a Walmart delivery to provision. Then we went up to docktales and visited with all the loopers. It was great to catch up to Gvit a Go (Scott and Joan) and Brileen (Brian and Eileen) and met new loopers. Then we went up to The Boathouse for dinner. After dinner, Brian brought his guitar over and graced us with some songs. Gvit a Go and Nauti Paws joined us on the aft deck enjoying some beverages and music. It was a great day! It was almost real midnight by the time we got to bed.
Friday, June 19:
We got up and I got another Walmart delivery while Wes put the mast down. We dropped our lines around 0915 and started making our way to Waterford. It was a windy day, but a beautiful day on the water. We arrived at Waterford city dock around 1430. Quanta was already there and helped catch our lines. We got secured, then Wes walked the dock and visited some while I finished working. Gvit a Go arrived around 1530 and we helped catch their lines and get them secured. Then we gathered our table and chairs and took then up near the welcome center for docktales. It tried to rain on us a little, but it blew over quickly. We packed everything up, went back to the boat to relax some before heading to bed.
Wes had a board meeting that morning, so we didn't leave right away. We dropped the lines around 1100 and went through our first lock. We did the flight of 5, and decided to continue on. As we were exiting lock 7, our starboard engine was overheating, so we shut it down and went on one engine. We decided to go to Scotia city dock instead of going through lock 8 and tying up to the wall there as it would have been a port tie and that would have been difficult with the winds and being down an engine. It was not the easiest docking, but thankfully there were some folks on the dock that assisted us. We got secured then we walked with Gvit a Go to Jumpin' Jacks Drive In for burgers and ice cream. It was a beautiful area and I would recommend it as a stop. We walked back our boats and relaxed a bit. Then Wes went down into the engine room to start working on getting the starboard engine fixed. He decided to call it a night around 2130. We watched a little TV then went to bed.
Wes got up early and went down in the engine room. He was able to get the engine fixed. We dropped our lines around 0745 to make it to the lock 8 for their first opening at 0800. There 7 of us there and we weren't sure if there would be room, but there was and we all went through. It was a beautiful day. The winds had died down some, so it was a nicer day on the water. We went through 7 locks. We locked through lock 14, then tied up to the wall. We arrived around 1530. We setup our table and chairs and enjoyed docktales with Gvit a Go (Scott and Joan) and Quanta (Ken and Beverly). We decided to call it a night and went in and watched some TV before heading to bed.
