Monday, Dec 1:
A relatively quiet day at port. I worked all day. Wes worked on boat projects (washed off the salt, tracked down our water leak, etc.). There is never a shortage of things to work on with the boat! Betty Mae came into one of the slips next to us. Then later in the afternoon, Our Journey arrived and they are in a slip on our other side. What great luck!! We hadn't seen Wayne and Karen for a month, so they stopped by for a quick drink, then we all went up to docktales. Big surprise, the 4 of us were the last to leave. 😂 We said our good nights, went back to the boat for dinner, a little TV, then bed.
Tuesday, Dec 2:
Another quiet day at port. I worked all day and Wes did some more boat projects. The sun finally came out (it's been rainy and overcast the last several days). Once I was done with work, we visited with folks and went up to docktales again. We had a nice visit. Back to the boat for dinner, a little TV then bed.
Wednesday, Dec 3:
Wash, rinse, repeat. I worked all day, and Wes worked on boat projects. We did a defrost of our deep freeze that was overdue. Wes went with Steve and Allison to Walmart and The Home Depot. More plumbing parts were needed. They stopped and grabbed food on their way back, so we had a late lunch. Then we went up for docktales. Another good visit that ended a little early because it was cold. Back to the boat to relax a bit then off to bed.
Thursday, Dec 4:
It's another windy, overcast day. I worked all day, while Wes worked on more boat items. It decided to rain in the afternoon, along with the wind. Not a great weather day, but better on the dock than out on the water. Oma came in, so we stopped by there for a drink, then went up to the marina office as they hosted a pizza party for all the loopers.
Friday, Dec 5:
Another cloudy, windy, and rainy day in Panama City. I worked all day while Wes did boat projects. Then we went Port St Joe and had dinner at Dagwood's. We did our laundry and walked the town. We basically just window shopped. We did get some brownies and I got some ice cream that had a little bourbon in it. It was a cute little town with lots of little shops and lots of places to eat. Then back to the boat to relax for the rest of the night before bed.
Saturday, Dec 6:
Same nasty weather. The weather forecasts changed though so there is a potential window next week for the crossing, so we decided to head out tomorrow. We visited with Iron Marriage for a bit, then back to relax a bit before heading up to the marina office for a weather briefing. That took most of the late afternoon. We went back to the boat, had dinner, relaxed a bit, then off to bed.
Sunday, Dec 7:
It was another rainy day, but we were taking off. We dropped the lines around 0800 and headed east. We went to an oxbow anchorage. We rafted with Dragon the Line and Our Journey. We got there around 1430. We all got settled in, then went over to Dragon the Line to watch the Bear vs Packer game. My Bears were not successful, but it was a close game and we all had fun. I made some Beef Stroganoff and Karen from Our Journey made big Caesar salad, so we brought our food over to Dragon the Line and we all had dinner together. Then we went back to the boat, relaxed a bit, then off to bed.
