New old friends and some family time!

Monday, June 2:

Quiet day for the most part as far as boat items.  I was busy with work, but found a resource that we were hopeful could find us the compressor we need.

Tuesday, June 3:

We received the good news that they found the compressor we need AND it was going to be shipping to their Rockford location tomorrow.  We were so excited we wouldn't have to wait the 5-6 weeks that Wes found from another distributor.  I reached out to my parents and they were gracious enough to pick it up for us and bring it down to us when them come to visit on Saturday.

Wednesday June 4:

Some friends of our from Knoxville, TN (Luis, Kim, Rand and Cheryl) caught up to us since we were delayed at Heritage Harbor.  We connected with them over the winter and discussed if the trip up the UMR was worth it.  We both said yes without hesitation, but did warn them of some challenges.  Needless to say, they were thankful to get to Heritage Harbor.  They had a couple of struggles and were happy to see "civilization."  We all went up to the Bluegill Grill and had a very enjoyable dinner.

With the news that the compressor would be here on Saturday, Wes started the work of taking the old compressor out.  He found someone here that was kind enough to loan him a reclaimer for the refrigeration and let him borrow a tank as well.  Thank you John!!

Thursday, June 5:

Wes was able to get the old compressor out.  It amazes me how small the compressor is but how much we rely on it!!

Friday, June 6:

Wes was at a standstill for what more work he could do, so he walked the docks and took some pictures of some fun boat names.  I love how creative people are with naming their boats.

 Saturday, June 7:

Wes and I got up and immediately started getting Toscana ready for company.  We did some cleaning, organizing and of course Wes was in the engine room making sure everything was good for our day trip with my family.  We mentioned the new cushions my Aunt Anita did for us.  Here are pictures of them back where they belong.  She had some extra fabric so she even made us three pillows.

My parents (John and Karen), sister and husband (Vicki and Terry) and nephew (Nate) all made the drive down to see us for the day.  They arrived around 11am, and we loaded up and shoved off for a little cruise down to Buffalo Rock anchorage.  We dropped the hook, cooked up some brats, had a nice visit and lunch.  We stayed there for a few hours, then pulled up the anchor to head back to Heritage Harbor.  Rain was on the way and we wanted to get back before it started.

I couldn't believe the size of that skeleton in someone's yard, so I had to take a picture.  Neighbors of ours in TN have one very similar to it.  It was only the second one I've seen.

There was some boat traffic, but not too bad.  Here is one of the larger boats we saw.

Another item my folks brought us were the cozies we had made.  We were happy this how they turned out!

Some pictures of Buffalo Rock anchorage.

We also saw a paddle wheeler giving a tour.

 Sunday, June 8:

Wes looked over the compressor and determined he would need more parts than anticipated.  Everything is closed today, so tomorrow he will be on the phone tracking down everything he needs.  I relaxed on the front of the boat in my chair catching some rays.  We had a quiet afternoon and evening, and dinner with our Knoxville friends.
